Our Story
Save the Crying Children Foundation was born from the personal experiences and compassionate vision of our founder, Mukisa Hellen. Having grown up in the slums herself, Hellen intimately understood the challenges and hardships faced by children living on the streets.
The foundation's journey began with Hellen's determination to make a difference. She started by washing clothes to earn money, using her earnings to buy food for street children. This humble beginning was driven by her deep understanding of their struggles and her commitment to creating positive change in their lives.
In 2017, a significant milestone was reached with the establishment of our children's home. This became a safe haven where vulnerable children could find not just shelter, but a true home. Here, they receive comprehensive care including nutritious meals, quality medical attention, proper clothing, education, and access to vocational studies.
Today, under Hellen's leadership, we continue to grow and expand our impact. We take full responsibility for each child in our care, ensuring they have everything they need to thrive and build a better future. Our work is a testament to how one person's compassion and dedication can transform countless lives.
